Summer is here which means your skin has different needs – longer daylight hours, higher temperatures and humidity and being out in the sun can all affect your skin.

Here are our top 5 tips for small changes that can make a big difference:
Store your skincare products in the fridge to keep your skin cool and calm in the summer. A chilled cleanser, moisturiser, or mask will gently soothe hot, sensitive skin.
Use makeup with at least SPF 30 to ensure your skin stays protected. You may not feel like caking on the makeup in the summer so try a tinted moisturiser instead to provide minimalist coverage and protection at the same time.
Exfoliate or apply a deep cleansing mask regularly to help unclog pores and get rid of blemishes. We sweat more in the summer (this is the body’s natural way of cooling off), exfoliating or a deep cleansing mask will help to remove the excess oil and leave you feeling refreshed. However, don’t overdo it - your skin naturally produces moisturising factors that help keep water in the skin and you don’t want to remove them altogether leaving your skin too dry.
Drink more water. When the weather heats up and you’re exposed to more intense sun, you need to be aware of how much water your skin is losing. Air conditioning can further dry out your skin, so it’s important to keep it hydrated during the summer.
Self-tan for a summer glow and avoid the sun’s dangerous rays. There’s no such thing as a healthy tan so get that sun-kissed look you desire by using a self-tanner.
